"Soon enough" or "it wasn't long before"
I am debating between these two, while writing about a time I made a realization. Currently I have
"Faced with disappointment, I tried to put myself in X's shoes. Soon enough, it struck me: I was just a ABC trying to get X to do DEF".
Should I write "It wasn't long before it struck me" ?? Please help!
thanks and God bless,
Max
