Whats the differens in meaning beetwen:

She will be there for sure!

Sure, she will be there!

is it real?

is it for real?

The store is closed for now.

The store is closed now.

The store is closed by now.

You can do that for yourself

I'm sorry, but I still don't get the difference between these two expressions. Could you (or any other) elaborate a bit more?

"Is it real?" is asking for assurance that "it" (construed as as object, substance, artifact, or the like) is not something fake, an imitation, or imaginary in some way. It is like saying "Is it genuine?"

-- Well, it's not real! It's simulated fur.

In some cases theese expresssions could be used interchangably, but I'll try to explain how they would be used differently.

I'd say "real" means "actually existing, rather than imaginary."

"For real" has more of a sense of "true, authentic, sincere."

So -- "Is he for real?" would mean "Is he really what he seems to be? Is he sincere?" Suppose someone was telling me a
