Which of these is correct and would it make a difference to insert the word THAT after so/such in these two sentences?

such - by itself is not grammatical

such that - this phrase means 'in such a manner that'. It modifies the verb.

eg I drove my car such that the police stopped me for speeding.

That's how I drove my car.

That meaning of 'manner' is not intended by the writer here.

so - this word has a number of meanings, including to indicate a consequence, and also 'in order that'. The latter seems to be the writer's meaning here.

so that - also 'in order that'. The 'that' is optional.

A more common way of writing this sentemce would be

I will lend Jake an extra copy of my book so that he will have one for the meeting tonight.
