yellowstarstruck Are sentences 2 and 4 ok? Not really. Americans, anyway, tend to use the simple past when they should use the present perfect, but "so far" makes all but the lowest of us toe the line.

The present perfect should be used with "so far". Nevertheless, you'll hear 2 and 4 on occasion. That doesn't mean you should use them
