Sliding downwards
Hi, can you tell me the meaning of "sliding downwards"? Which option is better: "she prevented me from sliding downwards" or "she stopped me from sliding downwards"? Thanks!

I think "prevented' may not be the choice word. Prevent- means eliminating the chances of something bad from happening. But in this case, the sliding downward process, as suggested, has already begun.
