Slang words

I am glad that a lot of people here are eager to improve their english. I am also
a forienger who speaks english as a second language. and I have some inquires about
Conversational english. A lot of people say my english is great and My ESL teahcer
says I'm on Intermidiate advanced level which is pretty good level in english. I am
also practicing writing frequently to improve. When I was laerning english in past
years, Most of the time that I spent to practice english was with adults and teachers
who does not use that much of slang terms. It helped me a lot to improve my general
knwledge and some advanced english but since adults do not speak english with a lot
of salng terms(they use basic ones) Some times I have to ask my friends for the
the definitions of any salngs that they use.

I thought It was more important to learn advanced english since people do not use
salng terms in offfical so I put more time in practicing advanced englsih after two
years(For my freshmen and sophomore years, I learned some general english from my
friends and room mates). I just wanted to be eloquent and speak good english so
I read some news articels watched documentaries and some American dramas.

I am not sure about the importance of learning slang words in english as a second
languae. Well I know I have to understand to join teenagers to hagout and talk. But
I do not know wheather I should spend more time learning slang words or not.
