singular/plural.
I'm really confused about singular/plural.
For example:
Do you listen to podcast/podcasts in your spare time?
I assume usually a person doesn't just listen to one single podcast but a wide variety of different podcasts so I would choose the plural, but it doesn't really sound correct to me.
Another example:
I had a lot of street food/foods for dinner.
I would definitely choose the plural because I had "a lot of" meaning different types of food. Spegettie, puddings, and a waffle, you name it. So I would use the plural "foods" in this sentence, but it still doesn't sound right.
Do you like Italian food/foods?
Well, there're obviously different types of foods, I can name a couple, spegettie and blah blah blah. So I would definitely choose the plural. But my gut tells me it's not grammatical.
Could you please help me gain a more correct insight into this grammar?

Podcasts - plural, indeed. Food, however, is generally used as non-countable. In your own explanation, you have given the answer: street food, but types of food.
