Simple past or present perfect? help me if the parragraph below is correct

Hi, mom sorry I haven´t writeen to you last week. I just haven´t time then. I was so busy with my classes this semester. Since the beginning of the term, I had a test in every class, and I spent almost every evening this week studying in the library.
Last weekend, I did something fun, thought. I went on a hike with the University Outdoor Club. We took a bus out to the mountains, climbed White Peak, and cooked lunch at the top. It felt great to be outside and away from my books! I haven´t got much exercise since I came here. I know I need more.
I haven´t made my plane reservations for winter vacation yet, but I´ll do that this week. It will be great to see everyone. I can´t believe it been five months already.
