Shouldn't it be "in" instead?
I sometimes see the following phrase regarding a company.
Established since 1950.
Shouldn't it be "in" instead?

"Established in 1950" makes much more sense.
Even "Since 1950" would work - as in "We've been serving our customers since 1950."
(Maybe they were barely limping along for 15 years before that, but in 1950, they became "established.")
