Should have thought
"Professor Ryle in his letter today seeks to defend his refusal to review Mr. Gellner's book in the Journal of Mind on the ground that the book contains imputations of disingenuousness against a number of philosophers. Whether it does or not I do not know, but if the imputations are justified this could not be a good ground, while if they are not I should have thought a review in Mind would provide an excellent opportunity to rebut them."
