Hi,Everybody I have been having some problems with these shortening,Could you help me ,please?
1 -While I was reading a book , I heard a noise. --- While reading a book , I heard a noise. 2 - While I was reading a book, The door was knocked. --- While reading a book, the door was knocked. 3. While doing Pilates , the ming has to control the movements.
I've known that when doing this shortening, both sentences' subjects must be the same, So only first one should be correct. But I have seen 2 and 3 sentences around too. Please enlighten me.
Top answer
#2 and #3 are wrong; in fact, your #2 is impossible. 2 - While reading a book, I heard a knock at the door. 3 - While doing Pilates, you must use your mind to control the movements.
