I've no idea what 'chofe' means, Alex. Is it an archaic past tense for 'chafe'? If it is, I cannot find it as such. Could you supply more context?

Well, I found the correct text-- it's from Pearl Jam:

Ooh, I know she gave me all that she wore
And now my bitter hands chafe beneath the clouds
Of what was everything?

However, I don't know what it means, overall. You can find those words in the dictionary, though.
