Hi
Could someone please tell me that is semicolon necessary in  here?
Cats are domestic animals; residential places of humanities are their resort.

Top answer

The semicolon is correct, but "residential places of humanities" is not. You could say "Cats are domestic animals; they live among humans", for instance.
