No—the words 'followed by a soothing massage and a dip in the whirlpool' are parenthetical.

'...so a nice shower...sounds very good.'

You can use 'sound' if there had been a list of things —'...so a nice shower, a soothing massage and a dip in the whirlpool sound very good.' (As you did in post #4.)
