I work at a college. I went to school there and I have become staff now. How should I address my colleagues and other staff that used to be my instructors? White I was a student, I addressed some of them as 'Dr.'/'Prof.' As I am staff now, should I just call them by their first names? I call some of them by their first names.
I am not sure if the others will like it. At the same time, it looks really awkward to address them Dr. every time I call them. I would really like to make it consistent. As I live in USA, I would prefer sticking to an American/Canadian way of handling this. I don't have a PHD.

I suggest you wait (if possible) to see how they address you. Then copy that. In many contexts you can just say eg 'Good morning', without using any form of address.

Thanks for getting back Clive! I always do that. However, they all address me by my first name as I have been working here for a bit since I was a student. We attend meetings and talk quite often. Kindly let me know how I could handle it. I am not too young (30 years), and, sometimes it gets very awkward to address them/everybody 'Dr.' every time.
