Which one do I use if I would like to backreference something from a previous sentence ?
ex.
To plant a seed you need to make use of a hand-shovel. "said" tool will not be very helpfull if you are willing to plant a tree, use a normal shovel.

"said tool" or "the said tool" is correct English. However, it has a jargony feel that may not be quite what you want here. You may as well say "this tool".
