Right Word Choice?

I want to ask if the words in the sentencess sensible. I am not really sure if they carry the meaning I would like to give. Does it sound native to you?

1. Shakespeare brought the unchancing humans constants and human wonderings into discussion.

(by constanst I meant the unchanging human condition)

2. Jealousy can be funny when felt on a moderate level, but, in large doses it can be a soul-wretching feeling.

I don't know what you mean by bringing things into discussion. I can guess, but I'd rather not. Constants are unchanging by definition. If you will use "constants", be brave and continue the metaphor.

If you will use the metaphoical "large doses", the alternative has to match. "Soul-wretching" is not possible. I will replace it with "bad" and leave you to pick the right word because only you know what you want to say.
