Restaurant phrased
Hello everybody.
I have always wonder about the common phrases in a restaurant.
For instance:
Suppose I am at the table in a restaurant and the waiter comes:
1) What if I want him to suggest me something from the menu, what should I say?
2) In case I already know what to eat and drink, what should I say?
3) If my wife is with me, how should I ask something for her?
For instance:
Case 1)
Waiter: "Welcome to X Restaurant"
Me: Thank you. I have never been here before, "what would you suggest me for dinner?" /
"what would you suggest me to eat?"
Case 2)
Me: "I would like to have" a hamburguer, "no onions" please,
How should I say?:
"I would like to have",
"I would like to eat a"
"Please get me",
"May I have"
If there is something I would like to avoid,
How should I say?:
"No onions please",
"hamburguer without onions"
Me: "And I would like a coke to drink, no ice please"
How should I say:
"I would like"?,
"Coke to drink"
"Coke for drink"
Case 3)
Waiter: "ma'am?"
(As my wife doesn't speak English, how should I ask for her)
"To my wife"
"For my wife"
"She would like a brocoli soup, and also a coke"
(After a while)
Waiter: is everything ok?
Me: "everything was very good, it was delicious...check please"
(Does it sound exagerated?)
Does all these make sense?
I would like to use common phrases, the way a native speaker would talk.
Can any native speaker help me?

" isn't strictly correct English, but it is commonly used. "Without onions" would also work. " would also work.
