Resources or Sources?

Resource: things that are valuable to people or a nation. Ex. The FBI devoted all of its resources to locating the kidnapper- they used everything they had.
Source: is a place, thing or person that provides us what we are looking for. Ex. I cannot reveal my sources- I cannot reveal who provided me with the information.

Oil, gas, and coal that are extracted from the ground are examples of energy resources.

A battery is an example of a source of energy, but not a resource. We don't dig mines to extract batteries.
