Reported speech ... again

Question

Hi again ... could you please help me with the following sentence:

1.1) It is the responsibility of each individual to familiarise with the internal work instructions, ensuring their compliance.

Or should I say 1.2) Each individual is responible for familiarising with the internal work instructions to ensure their compliance.

Or do you have other suggetion?

I would appreciate if you could help me.

I don't quite understand what you mean by "internal work instructions".

"familiarise" requires a reflexive pronoun.

These observations in mind, I would say you would be better with the first one if you intend to make this part of an official document. "It is the responsibility..." has an 'official' tone.

Use the second if you intend this to be more informal - part of recommendations to a small group of people you know, perhaps. "Each individual is responsible ..." is less 'official' in tone.

1. It is the responsibility of each individual to familiarise himself with the internal work instructions, ensuring their compliance.

2. Each individual is responsible for familiarising himself with the internal work instructions to ensure their compliance.

Thanks CJ,

I´ve used "internal work instructions" to refer instructions that belong to the company but, I can say "work instructions" to avoid confusion.
