relation vs relationship

Is there a case that relation and relationship have the same meaning and interchangeable? If not, what is the difference in meaning btw them?Quoc

Hi Tung... This is something I too wondered about a while ago

I believe 'relationship' has a narrower meaning in that it only signifies 'the state of being related' or 'the way of being related'.
Whereas 'relation', although it can have this same meaning, is also used in different contexts with different significations :
- a reference to ("... this question is in relation with the previously discussed issue...")
- a relative, someone from the extended family
- the act of relating, that is to say telling or reporting a story.
