If you could tell me whether I should use "dear sir/ madam" or "dear sir" or dear madam . Hope u get my question ??

Use these forms only if you don't know the person's name. Dear Sir if you know it's a man Dear Madam if you know it's a woman Dear Sir or Madam if you don't know the person's gender Note that these are formal ways of addressing someone. Don't use them eg in casual emails.
