Reducing Relative Clause--Run on Sentence?
The man who is outside is my father
The man outside is my father.
The invitation, which was sent by John, pleased Mary
The invitation, sent by John, pleased Mary
Can we reduce this one also?
I was told I couldn't, that it was a run-on...
Why can't I here?
I normally skim-read books, which is probably why I get into so much trouble.
