Quotations with ellipses...
Hi everyone,
(Forgive me if this is a double up but my last post seems to have been swallowed by a black hole...)
My question is about the use of ellipses in quotations.
Let's say the original text is:
The first sentence begins. There is a part I want to omit and the second sentence continues.
Banal sentence, sorry, but hopefully it will serve the purpose.
Which of the following puntuation methods would be correct?
"The first sentence begins. [...] and the second sentence continues."
Or:
"The first sentence begins. [...] [A]nd the second sentence continues."
Or something else entirely?
Thanks heaps,
Wil
