Hi, Teachers, Please help correct my letter if there are any mistakes. Thank you.
Dear Jacky,
How are you doing recently?
I have some difficulty in Chinese listening. For example, I can't remember the numbers when I am doing IELTS listening. They speak too fast that I can’t catch the number such as telephone numbers and address.
Besides, I find it difficult to speak Chinese. You know, the four tones of spoken Chinese really drive me crazy. I often make mistakes while speaking to others. For example, when I am going to say“ shui jiao”(dumplings), my Chinese friend will think that I want to sleep.
In Chinese, if “shui jiao”, both of the words are pronounced the forth tone, it means “sleep I want”.
However, if both of the words are pronounced the third tone, it means“dumplings”.
I really want to improve my Chinese listening as well speaking.
But I don't know how. Would you please give me some advice?
I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Best wishes.
Yours,
Louisa
