The latest electricity bike restriction policy has aroused the extensive concern of the public in China recently.
Some people who are in favor of this policy say that the increasingly wide use of electricity bikes has made traffic conjunction worse than before. Therefore, it is necessary to release the electricity bikes restriction policy.
However, other residents urge that they could not support the policy because electricity bikes are much cheaper and environmental friendly than other vehicles.
I have developed my point of view as well; I think electricity bikes should not be prohibited for the following two crucial reasons.
The first reason is environment. Electricity bikes only use electricity as their resource which is renewable and does no harm to the environment. Compared with cars and other kinds of vehicles, electricity bikes don’t need to consume vast sums of un-recycle resource, besides, they will not emit poison gases into the environment.
The second reason is price and convenience. You have to pay at least $10,000 to purchase a car in addition to various related costs, such as taxes, insurance, maintenance and parking. However, you can only spend $250 to buy a brand new electricity bike, and only $100 for a second-hand one.
If you cannot afford the expensive car and don’t want to waste your time waiting for a bus or subway, an electricity bike can be a wonderful choice. Besides, there are many free parking lots for bicycles and electricity bikes in many areas, like hospital, supermarket and schools. Many people, including my teacher think going to work by electricity bike is the most economic and convenient way.
In conclusion, from the reasons I have presented above, I think the electricity bike restriction policy is unreasonable because the electricity bikes have far more advantages than its disadvantages.
