There is a widely concern over the issue that how people sent to prison should be treated. It is well known that the opinion concerning this hot topic varies from person to person.
A majority of people think that people who commit crimes should be taught what they have done is wrong. Because when these people leave prison they will then try to do good for society.
People, however, differ from their opinion on this matter. Some people hold the idea that criminals should be given the same punishment regardless what crime has been committed. As the saying goes ‘pay a person back into his own coin’, from their point of view, if a man steals a car, he should lose his own car.
In brief, I firmly support the former opinion. Because there is much truth in the old Chinese saying ‘gold can’t be pure and man can’t be perfect’; it is the nature of men to make mistake. We should give those people who are in prison an opportunity to turn over a new leaf. Besides, I still believe that some people, who are accused of committing crime, are innocent. They should not be treated like a prisoner.
