Present perfect
Hi,
I was listening to a sermon and I think I heard a past perfect being used to reference back to what Jesus has done. Is this OK?
rough paraphrasing of what I heard:
Folks, we must not forget what Jesus has done in the Mount.
I think, he was referencing 'we' to be people of our days. Is it OK to use a past perfect in this case? I think Clive said that a past perfect can be used in a case where a need to be time specific doesn't exist and when the scene of the sentence has unfolded not long ago.
