Possessive Apostrophes

Which is correct: Champions League, or Champions' League? The branding of this league does not use the apostrophe, but should it?

Top answer

This was discussed a few years ago and a member called J Lewis, a native British speaker of English, said he wasn't sure which was right. I suggested that both were acceptable, the one without the apostrophe mainly because the league itself does not use it. I hold J Lewis's command of English in high regard.

I'm a native British speaker of English, and I'm not sure either!
