polite way of sending first email to someone I don't know??
Hi I'd like to send email to someone on the web, who has no any relationship with me, because I have read his webpage and have risen some questions. They are not doing business so their answers are largely voluntary. I hope to write in the most polite and appropriate way.. What is the header of such an email ?? Any example??
Should I start with 'Hi.. , or ' Dear..."

Hello, kenny. Start with 'Dear —'. We would like members to attempt their own draft letter first, and then we will check it for you.

I'd like to write back to thank him, as a way of politeness
What is the best reply form for me to write back to him? He is a more well-known person in our local community and is much older than me. I'd like to make a more polite reply.
