Poem to my Country
Hello everyone,
This is the first time I ask for help in this forum and I was wondering If could give a hand with the following text. I just translated it and I would like to know if it sounds good to your ears. It has to sound as formal as possible and I'm not sure about the use of some words in this context.
Colombia, Country of mine,
You are always in my heart,
I believe in your destiny,
and I hope to see you forever great, respected and free.
In You, I love everything that is important to me,
Your glories, your beauty,
My home, my ancestors' tombs,
My beliefs, the fruit of my efforts,
And the fulfillment of my dreams.
Being a citizen of yours,
is the greatest of my glories.
My greatest ambition,
is to take with honor the title of Colombian,
And if necessary to die while defending you.

Hello, Esneider—and welcome to English Forums. I think it reads quite naturally, though it lacks rhyme and meter, which I suspect it has in the original Spanish. I have corrected a few minor punctuation problems.
