Pls put this in past tense; I may/might as well go home.
Hello!
Would you be so kind to tell me how I can put "may/might as well" into past tense?
I may/might as well go home.
This sentence is describing my feeling of present moment, right?
If I want to put it in past tense, how should I say?
For example, if I look back the feeling two days later,
and want to tell about the feeling to someone,
how should I say in natural English?
The only two ideas I could think of are as follows but I am not at all confident.
(At that time,) I thought I may/might have as well go home.
(At that time,) I thought I may/might as well have gone home.
