Please rewrite it into plain English: Is my try on the right track?

Nothing of him that doth fade,
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange.

Nothing of him has really faded, but he has really gone through a great change - he's become wealthy (both in knowledge and money) and unusual.
