Please help.
Are the commas that follow the job descriptions within parentheses below correct, or should I omit ALL of them? If not, which ones are keepers?
1- On February 8th, 2011, about 10:09 am, I, John Doe (Human Resources Manager)[,] received information from April Doe (Customer Service Manager)[,] that Tyler Doe (Part-Time Pizza Maker)[,] accepted an unsigned WIC check ....
I think #2 below would be correct because, in this case, the beginning and ending parenthesis that encloses the job description would serve as a replacement for the commas. Commas + parentheses seem to be a no-no. It appears as though the commas would be redundant in conjunction w/the parens. Does everybody agree that #2 is, without doubt, the correct punctuation choice?
