In the modern world divorce is very easy. Many
people are determined to get married and live together. These couples depend on
each other. They share everything from household chores, taking care of the
kids, paying bills, and other responsibilities of being married. However, the
majority of these couples cannot seem to fulfill their marriage vows. As a
result, they end up getting divorced. There are many reasons why couple gets
divorced. These may include serious problems such as alcoholism, abuse, or cheating
spouses. These couples end up in a divorce because they can no longer live
together in harmony. A wife or husband may have changed in ways that the other
could not adapt. Some couples may have simply drifted apart over time and find
that they no longer love each other as they once did. Statistics show that one
of the most causes of the divorce is financial difficulty. One thing that has
come up numerous times in research is that money causes the most stress for
married couples. According to PREP (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement
Program), money is said to start more arguments than any other topic. Citibank
also states that their research shows money to be the leading cause of divorce
(“Money…” 128). Couples not having enough money or even having more money than
they know what to do with can cause major friction in any marriage. Divorce can
be devastating to one or both parties, but couples that are educated and who take a
few precautions can reduce the impact on their life. And always remember for a
good marriage, each spouse should give at least fifty one percent.
