'Pick from'?
We had to pick from either the humanities or science track.
I saw the sentence in an English education program but I was wondering if 'from' is needed? Dictionaries say 'pick' always needs objects directly. So I think that 'We had to pick either the humanities or science track' is correct.
Do you think that 'pick from' is okay to use?
