Perfective of "to know"

00I remember reading about this verb's being 01i00not02i00 perfective in a majority of cases. But, recently I have found out that the phrase "When did you know..." is — according to Google — used very frequently on the web.02br

00For example, here's a quotation from the BBC website:02br

00May I ask you if that usage of "know" is correct and what alternative ways for putting the above question into words are there? I mean ones not as cumbersome as "When did you get that to know?"02br
