Paraphrasing
Hello,
I am a college student inundated with a great deal of challenging reading. I am coming to realize that I am very much lacking in critical reading/reasoning skills. I can manage this process, but I find it very slow. I have a hard time keeping track of my findings and the relationships between them. I particularly struggle with determining the structure of texts and paraphrasing. Is it necessary to translate everything into my own words in order to achieve maximum comprehension? I suppose this is somewhat self-explanatory. In any event, I would really appreciate any strategies that you may have to offer. I am getting very behind and need to get a handle on the information I am dealing with.

There are many helpful resources available which can assist adults in improving their reading comprehension. It is important to note that adult needs do not correspond to those of young learners. I am not sure, however, of your exact problem.

I am not sure, however, of your exact problem. Do you need to learn how to paraphrase? What do you mean by "determining the structure of texts"? Is "achieving maximum comprehension" your goal?
