May I get an honest opinion on this peom? I am tried to depict the reality felt by most American.
It's time of chaos, many live in uncertainty From penthouse to poor house, that's reality Wake up suddenly, life is no longer the same Prosperity to proverty, it seemed like a game For the luckies, working hours often past eight Annoucing profits, upper management celebrate Popping French champagne, bosses wine and dine But millions got laid off, joining unemployment line Why is life so unfair, though, what else can we say He said " You did a good job, here is a 2 % raise" Thank you very much, I really appreciate Social order disturbed, unemployment is high While many lost homes, some barely get by Surreal, I could only hope it was a bad dream trapped in a dead end, I feel the need to scream searched but with little luck, it's been eighteen months Countless resumes sent, I'm sure not the only one Like many still seeking work, future seems bleak And I am one, for I am human feeling weak Able to only bear so much, God , to you I pray Please grant me strength to face another day

Well, to me it sounds as if it belongs to the repertoire of a hip hop artist (in which case, I think, it's not bad at all). I wouldn't expect a poem like that from a contemporary poet if that's what you wanted to know. I could be wrong though.
