Hello. With which adjectives can one (when used as a substitute for a noun) be omitted? For ex. I have seen that 'first' can be used alone or as 'first one.'

Hi, You need to be a bit careful with 'first'. When you say 'first one', you'd normally precede it by 'the'. Tom was the first one to jump.
