Once (2)...in a different viewpoint

Hi guys,I've already posted one regarding this.But I'v become curious about a little different part so... I've posted it again.In the following sentence, what situation do "I" have?I mean ... did the person find a place to live already or should he find a place from now on?If the person has to find the place in the future, why was the phrase " I have found" used instead of "I find"?(Is it wrong if I understood it as "Because I've already found a place to live, now I will send you my address"?)Thanks for your comments in advance~!pb------------------------------Once I've found somewhere to live I'll send you my address.

You're understanding seems correct to me. You may work for a long time to find something, but at only one point can you say in the present tense, "Eureka! I find it!" Immediately after that, you must say, "I found it" (past tense), or "I have found it" (present perfect tense).

"Looking" may be a continuous action ("I am looking,") but "finding" is instantaneous, "I find," followed immediately by "I found" or "I have found." So, "When I have found it, I will call you," could properly refer to the very next instant after the one in "When I find it I will call you."

If you call me and ask, "Have you found a place?" I may properly answer you by saying, "Yes, I have found a place. I found it last week." But it would not be natural to say, "Yes, I have found a place last week."

"The place has been found." "The war has been won." If someone has been on an island for five years and doesn't know the war is over, you may say, the war has been won," but you may not say, "the war has been won five years ago. (But you might say, "The war has been won for five years now.")

Sorry for the digression.

"I'll call you as soon as I find a place" and "I'll call you as soon as I have found a place" mean about the same thing. Some people might feel that the second version gives them a little more time. I don't think anyone could say how much.

Edit. As Madhulk says, of course at the time the sentence is written (Once I've found somewhere to live I'll send you my address.) the place has not been found.

I probably made a mistake by not taking what you wrote literally.

"When I find the place I'll call" does not mean the place is found.
"When I have found the place I'll call" does not mean the place has been found.

By the way, here's my probably final SOS.

In the following dialgue, how should I interpret it? (1) or (2) or Another way?

(1) I thought it wouldn't be difficult, because I had been there before in order to visit your place.
(2) I thought it wouldn't be difficult, when I arrive around your place and visit your place first.

I thought (1) is the right one and that the sentence had problem with the usage of "once."
But somebody said it had no problem except "I've been", which should be changed to "I had been."

And he also suggested this interpretation: I didn't think it would be difficult once (after) I had been nearby to visit your place.

To be very sorry for him/her, however, I can't understand the usage of "once after" too.
So, here, once again and hopefully the final question for this,....
I ask your help again.

So...what do you think of the right interpretation of the sentence?
