omittion of 'to' in replying to an answer
Hi~, everyone.
I have a question about the right use of 'to' in replying to a negative question. Would you take a look at the below and choose me correct sentences.
A: Why don't you drink coffee?
B: 1. I stopped because my doctor told me.
B: 2. I stopped because my doctor told me to.
B: 3. I stopped because my doctor told me not to
B: 4. I stopped because my doctor told me not to drink
B: 5. I stopped because my doctor told me not to drink coffee.
Which is right and which is wrong? And which is your favorites among the right?
