Omittion of articles (on,in) pictures
I see a picture on a book and the description for a certain part goes 'pipe in resilient wrapping at clamp'. What I wonder is the omitted articles in the phrase. Would this have meant: a pipe in the resilient wrapping at a clamp(s)?
And is the use of the for the wrapping really necessary even for a picture?
