What does "offensively familiar" really mean ? Thanks a bunch in advance

offensively is an intensifier, u could replace as 'too familiar'. It doesn't mean there is an insult or similar :-) The phrase makes me think there is a problem with copyright about a product. Provide the whole sentence / context pls

I saw this in dictionary where it says "a smirk is to smile in an offensively familiar way", i was originally trying to look for what the word "smirk" really mean. Then I googled it and found something like "a male is being offensively familiar with a female", I'm so confused

'Familiar' here means 'close in relationship with someone',
eg Your mother or your best friend acts in a familiar way with you.
If someone is 'offensively familiar' with you, it means they offend you by acting as if they have a close relationship with you when in fact they don't.
