Should I use the article "the" before the word before "of" in this sentence or in general. Here's the example (scientific text):
The aim of the measurements was to detect possible changes in the electric conductivity of fracture-specific water.
or
The aim of the measurements was to detect possible changes in electric conductivity of fracture-specific water.
Which one is correct or are they both wrong? Thanks!
