I did the first quiz in grammar smart by princeton review and I don't understand why I missed so many on just nouns.

I don't get why time,life,trips,taxicabs,flats,announciation,back,you,we,thyself, and life can be considered nouns. Can anyone explain?

I don't get why time,life,trips,taxicabs,flats,announciation (do you mean 'annunciaton'?) ,back,you,we,thyself, and life can be considered nouns. Can anyone explain?

Please consider this simple definition of the word 'noun', intended for learners of English.

a word that is the name of something (such as a person, animal, place, thing, quality, idea, or action) and is typically used in a sentence as subject or object of a verb or as object of a preposition

In your list, the words you, we, thyself are pronouns. The others are nouns. Don't you think that they fit the definition above? Why not?

eg taxicabs are things, as you would know if you were hit by one!
