They are unnatural, but how about grammar, especially with 'the'? Would you say it should be without it would be more grammatical at least?

There is little point in discussing the grammatical correctness of unnatural statements. He will have whined, for examole is a grammatically correct utterance, but totally inappropriate in that statement, Not the whiningi and Not whining are possible utterances, though not complete sentences, but they simply do not work there.
