Not only, as an adverb or a conjunction or a deletion of It is?
I found a sentence below in a liner note of a jazz CD:
Not only that he plays Monk’s changes so perfect, but he also gives that personal touch to it.
I am not sure what part of speech is not only. Is it an adverb, or a conjunction, or a remnant of a deletion of it is?
