Can I say that the following sentences are more or less the same?
1) Not knowing which course to take, I asked for his advice. = Since I didn’t know which course to take, I asked for his advice.
2) We were watching TV news last night, and then the light went out. = We were watching TV news last night, when the light went out.
3) We went to , and we enjoyed boat tours there. = We went to , where we enjoyed boat tours.
