I would like to post a part of my thesis and i would be happy if somone corrected that part, please!! It is a very difficult part for me 'cause i have to write that as a kind of an introduction. It's about chemistry..and i've never in my life had any relation to chemistry...here it is:
The coatings production runs without noticable chemical reactions. It’s more a sequence of optimal adjusted operations such as metering, mixing and testing. To understand the different issues that ***(a name here which i'm not allowed to post) has to deal with a short introduction into the different phases of coatings production is essential. Basically the production of coatings can be splittet into ten different steps which will be shortly explained in the following.
Step 1 – Preparation Preparation means the mixing and homogenization of raw materials or semi-finished products such as the production of colourless coatings, thinners and several additives.
Step 2 – Dissolving Dissolving is the addition of solid matters to a thinner by long agitation in a heatable kettle until the solid matters completely resolved. Further dissolving describes the process of fusioning solid matters in the molten mass.
Step 3 – Premixing Premixing is the production of dispersable or grindable pastes which contain all additives, thinners, pigments and fillers. A homogenous paste reached by a good premixing is a condition for a high-quality-grinding.
Step 4 – Dispersing Dispersing means to crush pigment particles into single primary particles by using shear forces and to envelop those with adhesives. The goal of dispersing is to reach a product that contains as much primary particles as possible. The different states of the pigment particles can be seen in the illustration below.
Step 5 – Grinding Grinding is the dispersion of pigments by using mills. It needs to be done when the shear forces reached during dissolver dispersion are not strong enough to crush the pigment agglomerates into primary particles. For grinding in coatings production there can be used different mills.
Step 6 – Mixing Mixing means to add the after the grinding still missing recipe elements.
Step 7 – Shading Shading is the final adjustment of the grinded products’ colour or the manufacturing of a batch of different tinting coatings. The evaluation of the colour is usually done visually. Critical products such as automotive series or military camouflages need to have a certain infrared-remission value. Therefore colourmetric evaluation before releasing the product is unavoidable.
Step 8 – Tarnishing Tarnishing is the addition of tarnishing mediums in grinded and mixed and products made of tinting coatings respectively. The effect of these mediums is based on a microscopical buffed coatings surface. The unevenness of the surface do not reflect the incident light (luster) but scatter it into different directions. The more uneven a surface the fainter the coatings film is.
Step 9 – Adjusting Adjusting contains the setting of the products’ attributes such as pH-value, specific resistors and viscosity.
Step 10 – Filling The filling is the last part in the production chain. Smallest failures can lead to fatal ramifications since the customer is the one who will realize them. For customer satisfaction being the prior target of the company the product has to pass a last quality control before it will be released.

It might be that you always use 'grindable', but this is the first time I've seen it used, and I think the word you mean to use is [url="http://www.hyperdictionary.com/dictionary/friable"]friable[/url].
Yes, i checked the friable...it is the word i mean. It's just that the process - the noun - is "grinding" so i thought "grindable" might also exist. But your version sounds better.
About the "sheer"/"shear" forces...i'm sure it's "shear" ...it is this special force which crushes things...i cannot explain that, sorry.
